Before she became AwesomeGirl, she was simply Dr. Angela Jiang, chemist and scientist, working for a nutritional lab. In this picture, she is resting by her desk and feeling pleased about a job that she had done. The outfit she is wearing is a typical outfit for her, and she is incredibly focused on the work that she does. 

The cross around her neck is a symbol of her faith in Christ, as is also when she is AwesomeGirl. She is a follower of Christ who desires to do more for the Lord, and when her wish is answered in a way that no one would ever believe, her life will never be the same.
